Found this lovely example of packaging on one of Neil’s MANY trips to Garden Centre!
Someone remind me to find the gem of signage regarding their drinking policies. Or maybe I just have a very very silly sense of humour.

I’m not making too many excuses but, all I’m saying is, if you’re the kind of person who’s been cursed with a black thumb, don’t really enjoy sand or soil sneakily finding it’s way into places it shouldn’t be and suffer from melting disorder every summer… you find ways of entertaining yourself while your loved one oooh’s and aaah’s and thoroughly studies plant after plant. *grin*
It is pretty interesting a lot of it I will admit! Just every now and then my brain wanders.

I must say! Thank you for being so present these days!

When those degenerates’ tent blew down I had a good chuckle. When later his car battery died I was pleasantly surprised!

It's small things but I guess in the last year I've had some moments where my mom's words have finally rung brilliantly true. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you..."

Or as I've summarised it over the years it's kind of more along the lines of this

"Play nice, be considerate and kind...or karma will whoop yer ass!"

Good people don't always have good things happening to them. You'll receive trials and tests and seemingly insurmountable obstacles... you'll also be betrayed by people pretending to be a good friend but you will overcome them because you will have with you true good friends who love and appreciate you for who you are and who you try to be.

And bad people... well... they don't always have bad things happen to them. But thats life, good and bad.

Here's the catch though...once you've done things and pushed people away with your actions then what? I know without my friends I definitely wouldn't have come out sane, and I can only HOPE i manage to repay them, somehow, one day. I'm very grateful I haven't managed to push them away by hurting them somehow. I hope to never do that.

So that is why I'm writing this I guess. Just to acknowlege that I still believe (possibly naively) in a form of karma.

*psssst... if you're listening up there tho... lets not forget I've been waiting a nice long half a decade to see some kind of ass-kicking related to "the incidents". *grin* heheheh ok no that was a little eeeevil. whoops.

Earlier on Thursday, Malema issued his latest unconditional apology for insulting Education Minister Naledi Pandor about her "fake American accent" on Wednesday.

"I write this letter to unconditionally apologise for those remarks," Malema said.

Sometimes I think dreams can just catch you too unawares.

I wish I could figure them all out.
I've had a few that have been interesting and sometimes a little worrying when they ring true later.
I'm certain it's nothing psychic, just a human subconscious working things out maybe a little faster than our conscious minds. Picking up on more subtle signs than our eyes clearly relay and our brains loudly analyse.

Do you get the uncomfortable ones too?
When you see people in your dreams you may have avoided in daylight.
Someone who's maybe pushed you away and shoved your previous closeness so far away you're too scared to ask them what the hell happened?
Here they are in your dream. Explaining everything in their own words and possibly you both end up apologising for your involvement in bringing things to where you find them.
Is that a dream of closure? Can you see it as being resolved then or will you have to try and actually HAVE the conversation that was already strained in a dream.

yuck. I hope not.

If i could control my dreams I wouldn't have put us anywhere near that resolution in the first place *sigh*
Even if that makes me stubborn it keeps me quite safe.


I think in my dream I just caught a small glimpse of how it could be, but that doesn't mean it has to happen.

Note to self:
when some people say it, it's not half bad being called "young lady".

I do believe people I work with are still possibly a leeeeeettle deluded about my age though...

My sister advised me back in the day not to tell colleagues my age in case it affects the way they respect me. This obviously shouldn't happen but lets face it... so often it does.
I hope in my case it hasn't been having the opposite to the desired effect these past years...

But ignoring all that, the "good morning and best wishes for the new year young lady" I got this morning felt nostalgic, comfortable, and as if I should go out and buy myself some sort of hat or bonnet.

This time of year...

I've been chatting with a lot of friends lately and December is always this time for big reflections.


But also it's as if extra pressure will always arrive to make you face things more!
Ex girlfriends or boyfriends will suddenly be at the same places you are - the ones they definitely rejected throughout the rest of the year. Families will ask questions you're not used to them asking.
New years will loom up in front of you with a whole suitcase full of both great memories, and definitely in my case, some atrocious ones!


I've worked out I have what I'm from now on calling "baggage anniversaries"...

I'll find at certain times of the year I'm just completely stressed out without warning.
Perhaps I should have immediately "let go" and brushed off hurt from that relationship that crashed around me?
Maybe I should have gone for grief counselling when I lost a friend?
:)

but these aren't soooooo bad? I'm only briefly unbearable at points and try very hard to pull myself back together asap.

Baggage anniversaries are working out ok. It's like having put my luggage I've accumulated over the years on a sort of budget payment plan I guess!
We don't have to force ourselves to deal with everything we go through immediately I think. Just remember to take peeks at it everynow and then before you're buried underneath it all!

Being the embroidery obsessed lass that I am these days I'm in what you could call awe of this solution to the Royal Variety Performance's program cover.

Elliot Young was commissioned to create a one-off cover which will be handed to dear Charles and Cammie while the rest of the audience "will have to make do with a printed facsimile if they want to know what time the Pussycat Dolls are coming on" the post says.


I'm really going to try become more active in my love of craftiness *sigh*
So I certainly missed the opportunity this year...but NEXT year people are getting embroidered plushies for Xmas.
